After centuries of ownership by various aristocratic families, the four-winged complex was in dire need of renovation when entrepreneur Peter L\u00f6w spontaneously acquired the castle. The aim was clear from the outset: to return it to its original use as a residence - a detached house, albeit on an extraordinary scale.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"809\" data-end=\"1268\">The refurbishment consistently followed the principles of monument protection and modern energy efficiency. Historic representative rooms were preserved, while modern living and sleeping areas were sensitively integrated into the attic storeys.
